Whether they\u2019re for designing a structure, designing a machine part, or creating an object, precision is the goal. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since it\u2019s extremely important to be as accurate as possible when working on your drawings, the best way to quickly create perfectly parallel shapes is by using the \u201cOffset\u201d command. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u201cOffset\u201d command in AutoCAD 2016, is located on the bottom right of the Modify panel, on the Home tab.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-6089 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.investintech.com\/resources\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Offset-Command-Autocad.png\" alt=\"Locating AutoCAD Offset Command\" width=\"132\" height=\"95\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s how to use the Offset command:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">1.Draw a shape that you would like to offset.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2. Click on the Offset command (bottom right on the Modify panel).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3. Select the Offset distance. You can do this in two ways. The<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">first is to enter the distance manually into the number box. The second way is to left click on a blank space in the drawing window and then move your cursor in any direction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4. Select the object to offset.
