Investintech is proud to announce that the third annual Investintech – CAJ Data Journalism Scholarship<\/a> contest is now open for the 2021 – 2022 academic year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know it\u2019s been tough for students, like you, trying to juggle not only your health and safety, but also adjusting to different methods of learning, whether in-person or online. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting back into the swing of the academic year is no easy feat. That\u2019s why Investintech is looking to support students and help make the transition easier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our scholarship is aimed at offering post-secondary Canadian students who are interested in data journalism the financial help and support needed in developing your education and career as a future journalist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

About the Investintech – CAJ Data Journalism Scholarship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This scholarship is an all-around opportunity that offers a $1,000 cash-prize, journalist networking opportunities, and the chance to put your work in front of data journalist professionals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoping to help Canadian students financially, we\u2019ll be awarding the winner a one-time cash prize of $1,000 CAD. This amount will be paid out to the student\u2019s academic institution and be paid towards your tuition balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure you get the best journalistic support out of this scholarship, we\u2019ve partnered with the Canadian Association of Journalists (CAJ)<\/a>. It is one of the most credible and authoritative organizations for journalists in Canada. The CAJ is offering the winning student a one year membership with the CAJ for free. In addition, they are also providing a free pass to their annual national CAJ conference (provided that COVID-19 restrictions allow for an in-person event in 2022). This conference is a chance for you to further develop the skills, resources, and connections you need. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winning submission will be picked by a Selection Jury<\/strong> that is also highly credible, made up of experienced and renowned data journalists. The three journalists making up the jury have many years of experience and extensive backgrounds under their belts. They have written for authoritative media outlets and received journalism awards. They\u2019ll review and vet your work according to the standards set by the Canadian journalism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We know there is a limitless pool of journalism talent among Canadian students – two of them have won the award so far. If you think you have a piece of journalistic work and a few project ideas worthy of the scholarship prize, apply this year and be the third annual Investintech – CAJ Journalism Scholarship winner!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
