December is one the most hectic months of the year. And if you’ve been busy this month preparing for Christmas, travelling to exotic lands or just tuning out for the holidays, you might have easily missed the entire month without noticing it.
So here’s a quick speedlink posting to get you caught up with what went down this month in the PDF world. Granted the PDF industry is slower than most when it comes to headlines, but there were a few things in the PDF world worth noting.
In an article for PDFzone, Don Fluckinger puts a spotlight on Adobe AIR, reflecting on how PDF users can use the technology to their advantage. If you want to sample PDF games during your holiday spare time, here's your chance. This month the Adobe site is showcasing PDF game portfolios. If you have an account with Acrobat.com, you’ll be happy to know that Adobe Buzzword got a few new document sharing options. - Starting this month you can view PDFs within Gmail. The popular web mail client now has added support for viewing PDFs diretcly within the browser.
- And earlier this month, there was slight cause for concern for Acrobat 9 users. An article published on PlanetPDF stated that Acrobat is “100 times less secure in its latest version”. Fortunately, in the same article Adobe gives PDF users a heads up on some encryption changes.
Happy Holidays!
