Awesome PDF Tip Off: How To Make A Twitter Button For Your PDF

When it comes to social media tools, the aim of the game is sharing. One could argue that, Twitter, one of the most popular social tools online, does it best. With one click, you can instantly send out a message to over a thousand people in your network.

Now, you normally don’t think “social media” when you say “PDF”.  But believe it or not, you can.  Here’s a way to make your PDF more social by adding a Twitter button to your PDF files.

I found out about this neat little trick while scanning through tweet streams with my Twitter account.

A tweet led me to Social Media Examiner, a magazine blog dedicated to sharing tips and tricks with users who are interested in using social media sites more effectively.

The posting is a year old, but it’s definitely still worth the mention.

The original posting by Michael Stelzner explains how to add a tweet button to your PDF in 6 steps. What you’re essentially doing is adding a “Tweet this” button that generates a tweet–complete with URL and custom message, leading to the landing page where your PDF is located.

Tweeters who are logged in can simply hit the tweet button while viewing your file, and let others on their network know about the PDF.

By adding a Twitter button to your PDF, your PDF documents can go viral in a matter of seconds. Not a bad way to share a PDF with others online.
