The Remove Password command is only applicable if the user has the password information required for a given document. This password parameters are based on Adobe’s specifications for PDF security.
Sonic PDF will check the active document’s security settings before removing password protection. If the document is protected by a master password, or both a master password and user password, then the master password must be provided to remove the password protection. If the document is only protected by a user password, then the user password must be provided to remove the password protection.
Note: Given the sensitive nature of password security – it is highly recommended that users ONLY change password protection for documents they have created. By receiving a password for a PDF document, the user is entrusted with the contents of that PDF document. Each user must ensure they have the proper authority prior to removing any password protection.
