There are three separate methods of creating PDF documents, included with the Sonic PDF package. Each method uses its own PDF creation settings – so knowing which method is used is important for determining which PDF creation settings are applicable.
Sonic User Interface PDF Creation
The first method of creating a PDF is to open the Sonic PDF application and use the Sonic PDF Application User Interface. Once inside the application, the user can select the “Create PDF” functions to specify a file to convert into PDF format.
Sonic Print Driver PDF Creation
The second method of creating a PDF is to use the Sonic PDF Print Driver. To implement this method, the user must create the PDF file as though they were going to print a document. However, instead of using their default Printer to print, they simply select Sonic PDF as the Printer. This is also known as the Print-to-PDF method.
Sonic Batch Conversion PDF Creation
The third method of creating PDF documents is to use the Sonic Batch Creator, which enables users to create multiple PDF’s by dragging and dropping files into the Batch Creator interface. Batch conversion is an extremely valuable tool when users must quickly convert a series of documents into PDF – it is no longer necessary to convert them one by one.
Note: It is important to note that in order to create a PDF file from a certain format, the related application that allows printing for that file format MUST be installed. This applies to each of the above methods of creating PDF files.
