The Header and Footer function allows the user to add information such as the date, time, company name, page numbers, or document file name to the top or bottom margins of the active document.
The Text & Font area of each allows the user to specify the information that they wish to include in the header and footer, as well as the relative location, and the font to use for this information.
Certain Predefined Tags are available for the user to use – as noted in the bottom right area of the dialog box:
&d: Date in short format, e.g.: “ 12/02/2005 ”.
&D: Date in long format, e.g.: “ Friday, December 02, 2005 ”.
&t: Time in 12-hour format including “AM” or “PM”, e.g.: “ 03:23:45 PM ”.
&T: Time in 24-hour format, e.g.: “ 15:23:45 ”.
&f: Filename of the active document.
&F: Full path filename of the active document.
&p: Current page number.
&P: Total number of pages in active document.
&bnnn: Text start with bates number “nnn”. If “nnn” isn’t specified, it starts at 1. Each time a page is processed, the number will be increased by 1.
&&: A single ampersand (&).
Margins - The user can specify the size for the margins to control the placement of the header and the footer.
The page range options for this dialog allow the user to specify whether to apply the Header and Footer settings to the current page, all pages, a page range, or specific pages within the active PDF document.
