Use this command
to convert the selected portion of the active document to an Open Office document format - Writer, Calc or Impress.

Conversion
After the Convert to Open Document option is selected or the
icon is selected on the toolbar, you will have the option for three types of PDF to Open document conversions -Writer (word processor), Calc (spreadsheet) or Impress (presentation)
The above dialog box gives you three options for your PDF to Open Document Conversion.
Writer - This is the word processor included in the Open Office suite. Selecting Writer will allow you to convert a PDF document into an editable Writer document - in Open Document Text format.
Calc - This is the spreadsheet program included in the Open Office suite. Selecting Calc will allow you to convert a PDF document into a formatted and editable Calc document in Open Document Spreadsheet format.
Impress - This is the presentation program included in the Open Office suite. Selecting Impress will allow you to convert a PDF document into a formatted and edtable Impress document in Open Document Presentation format.
After selecting any of the above options, you will be prompted to save your document before the file launches - the following example uses Calc, but the save dialog will appear for any of the three Open Office formats:
